Ethernet Settings

  • Ethernet Type Setup the Ethernet type as Gigabit Ethernet or Fast Ethernet.
    1. Gigabit Ethernet will provide data speed up to 1000 Mbps.
    2. Fast Ethernet will provide data speed up to 100 Mbps
  • Energy Efficient Ethernet Enable/disable Energy Efficient Ethernet

LAN TCP/IP Setup

  • Obtain an IP address automatically Enables DHCP client on the device.
  • IP Address Type the IP address of your Sky Booster 4. This address is applied if the DHCP client is disabled.
  • IP Subnet Mask Type the subnet mask you wish your Sky Booster 4 to use. Unless you are implementing subnetting use 255.255.255.0 as the subnet mask.
  • IP Gateway Type the IP address of the gateway that your Sky Booster 4 will use to connect to the Internet.
  • Primary Name Server Your preferred server to translate domain names to numerical IP addresses.
  • Secondary Name Server Your alternate server to translate domain names to numerical IP addresses.
  • Web UI Port Web browser access normally uses the standard HTTP service port 80. For greater security, you can change the remote management web interface to a custom port by entering that number in the box provided. Choose a number between 1 and 65534, but don't use the number of any common service port. It is not guaranteed to have the same IPv4 Port Number on CGN (carrier grade network) connections, as the port will be automatically allocated by the network.

2.4 GHz Wireless Settings

  • SSID SSID of your Sky Booster 4 on 2.4 GHz.
  • Network Key Network Password of your Sky Booster 4 on 2.4 GHz.
  • Enable Wireless Access Point The Wireless Access Point of your Sky Booster 4 can be enabled or disabled to allow wireless connection of your wireless devices. The wireless icon on the front of your Sky Booster 4 will be illuminated if it’s enabled. If Enabled, connecting devices (computers, tablets, games consoles etc.) will be able to access the Internet wirelessly. If Disabled, connecting devices (computers, tablets, games consoles etc.) won't be able to access the Internet wirelessly.
  • Enable WPS WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) allows you to easily connect devices to the Sky Booster 4 using either the WPS Push Button or PIN configuration. The WPS button is located on the side of your Sky Booster 4 on the right hand side. Your Sky Booster 4 is automatically enabled for WPS. You won't be able to use WPS if you are using WEP (Wired Equivalent privacy) or WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key).

5 GHz Wireless Settings

  • SSID SSID of your Sky Booster 4 on 5 GHz.
  • Network Key Network Password of your Sky Booster 4 on 5 GHz.
  • Enable Wireless Access Point The Wireless Access Point of your Sky Booster 4 can be enabled or disabled to allow wireless connection of your wireless devices. The wireless icon on the front of your Sky Booster 4 will be illuminated if it’s enabled. If Enabled, connecting devices (computers, tablets, games consoles etc.) will be able to access the Internet wirelessly. If Disabled, connecting devices (computers, tablets, games consoles etc.) won't be able to access the Internet wirelessly.

Wifi Add WPS Client

  • Push-Button If your device supports WPS Push Button configuration (consult your device manual), you can press the soft WPS button on your device then browse to this page and select Push-Button and click Add. This function replicates the physical WPS button on your Sky Booster 4 You can use the settings on this page instead of the physical WPS button on your Sky Booster 4 if you can't easily get to your Sky Booster 4 or to save you time if your Sky Booster 4 is in another room.
  • PIN If your device supports WPS PIN configuration only and has generated a WPS PIN, choose option Select PIN and enter this eight digit PIN in the PIN field, then click Add. Your device will be securely connected to your wireless home network.

WPS Setup AP

  • WPS AP Mode Your Sky Booster 4 is set to Configured mode by default. If you have a Sky Q box, you should not change this setting unless instructed to by Sky Technical Support.
  • WPS PIN Your eight digit WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) PIN is static and assigned to your Sky Booster4 by default. You should enter this PIN if requested by a device you are connecting to your Sky Booster 4. This PIN appears on the back of your Sky Booster 4.
 

Sky Booster 4 Wireless Settings

Revert to Factory Default Settings

To erase the current settings and reset your Sky Booster 4 to the original default settings.

Sky Booster 4 Upgrade

You will be advised to go to a Sky website and download the updated software. You may want to read the Release Notes before continuing.

Update Firmware
Locate and select the file you just downloaded and uncompressed. Click Update Firmware to update the software on the Sky Booster 4. This loads the new software in the Sky Booster 4 and causes the Sky Booster 4 to restart.

Important: Whilst upgrading your Sky Booster 4 software don't go online, shutdown the computer, turn off or do anything else to the Sky Booster 4 until it fully reboots.

Select Sky Booster 4 and check the Firmware Version to verify that your Sky Booster 4 now has the new software installed.
Note: In some cases, such as a major upgrade, you may need to reconfigure settings of your Sky Booster 4 after upgrading it. Refer to the Release Notes included with the software to find out if you need to reconfigure the Sky Booster 4.

Reboot the Sky Booster 4

Use this button to perform a reboot (restart) of the Sky Booster 4 from the device you are accessing these pages on, rather than physically rebooting the Sky Booster 4 by turning the power off at the mains. You can reboot the Sky Booster 4 if it seems to have become unstable or isn't operating normally.

Set Password

Use this page to change the password you use to access the Settings pages - this is not your MySky password.


To change the password:

Type the Old Password. The default password for the Sky Booster 4 is: sky

Type the New Password and type it again in the Repeat New Password box to confirm it. Note: Be sure to write it down in a secure location.

Click Apply to have the password changed or click Cancel to keep the current password.

Session Timeout

For security, the administrator's login to the Sky Booster 4 configuration will timeout after a period of inactivity. To change the login timeout period:

Type the value in Administrator login times out field. The suggested default value is 5 minutes.

Click Apply to save your changes or click Cancel to keep the current time.

Include in logs

Use these checkboxes to determine which events are included in the log.


  • Connections to the web based interface of this device - If checked, all attempted access to Graphical User Interface of your Sky Booster 4 will be logged.
  • Sky Booster 4 operation (start up etc) - Must be checked to enable any logging to take place.

Syslog

The logs can be sent to a remote syslog server.

  • Send logs to remote syslog server - If checked, Sky Booster 4 will send syslogs to the configured syslog server.
  • Remote syslog server address - Enter the IP address of your syslog server.
